The Wahoo Pharmacy Junior Legion team won its second tournament championship of the season as the Blues won the Sam Crawford Classic this past weekend. The Juniors had a tournament record of 3-1 and defeated Waverly 6-1 in the tournament championship game.
Wahoo Bullock Bros. Construction (13's) also participated in the Bennington Tournament the weekend of June 27-28 and came home with the championship trophy.

Wahoo hosted the 7th Annual Wahoo Invitational at Hackberry Park the weekend of June 19-21. 26 area teams competed in four age divisions. Wahoo teams won the championship in 3 of the 4 divisions. Tim Maly Construction ran away with the 14U championship, downing Ashland in the final 9-0. Sid Dillon won the four-team 11U division by winning all three of its pool play games. Hancock Construction won the 10U championship, defeating Gretna's "challenge team" 6-4 in the championship game.
The Wahoo Pharmacy Junior Legion team traveled to Kearney the weekend of June 5-7 and brought home the championship hardware. The Blues defeated Minden, Hastings, Lincoln Pius X, and Kearney. The Juniors are coached by Jonathan Lanik.
Wahoo Zesto (10's), under the direction of Pat Bruner, won the 10U division of the Springfield Slam tournament June 13-14. Zesto defeated Mead 4-2 in the championship game. Zesto was 3-1 on the weekend with wins over the KWAA Angels and KWAA Yankees and a one-run loss to Springfield. With the tournament championship, Zesto improves to 18-2 on the season.

Highlights: Ryan Dailey, Matt Dobesh, and Corby Brigham held Ashland to four runs on four hits.
June 11th Wahoo Corner Market 19 Cedar Bluffs 0
Highlights: Tristan Cloyed, Reid Jurgensmeier, and Sean Dailey each had 3 hits.
June 13th Wahoo Corner Market 17 Yutan 6
Highlights: Reid Jurgensmeier had a home run and triple. Corby Brigham and Sean Dailey each added 2 hits.
June 14th Wahoo Corner Market 6 Gretna Challenge 7
Highlights: Reid Jurgensmeier and Sean Dailey combined to give up just one hit over six innings. Matt Dobesh led the team with 2 hits. Jurgensmeier added a triple.

The WBA has learned that it was not chosen to host either an Area or State tournament in 2009. The Juniors Area tournament will be in Seward. The Seniors Area tournament will be held in Geneva.
